The studio is both a physical and mental space α place where ideas are formed, tried out and discussed αn amount of time, that the artist offers to oneself αnd a space where one is exposed both towards oneself and others, though always keeping some sort of privacy.

We see the term studio as being applied in versatile dimensions, forms and states. Thus through this collaboration between Athens Open Studio, an artist run space, and ARTHENS, Athens’ only luxury art tour service, we aim to celebrate the experience of visiting and being in the studio; bringing together recent works by Ileana Arnaoutou, Lily Hassioti, Ismene King, Alexia Psaradeli, Ariadne Strofylla, Augustus Veinoglou, Frolic. These works come together to propose an exposition as a mid-point state in the artwork’s trajectory; opening up practiceled inquiry and creating a dialogue between newly formed ideas, techniques and experiencing or viewing methods.

Athens Open Studio is an artist run space in Athens, founded by Lily Hassioti and Ileana Arnaoutou, focusing on the notion of the studio as a state of mind, a space where both us create and also invite others to make, reflect on or talk about artwork in general.
