The ATHENS PRINTMAKING ART CENTER - PANDOLFINI & SIATERLI (APAC) invites you on Saturday 15 January, from 12:00 to 15:00, at ETCH INK art space, to a public talk where the curator and the artists of the current exhibition "Archive in motion" will be there to present their work, their artistic research on the historical archive of the Athens Printmaking Art Center and the idea behind the exhibition.
Throughout the years, the Athens ATHENS PRINTMAKING ART CENTER - PANDOLFINI & SIATERLI has actively promoted the language of printmaking in the contemporary art scene of Greece and has acquired a rich collection of prints by important artists who have collaborated with the studio. This collection, a living archive of the historic trajectory of the Center, is constantly being enriched with new works and is currently being digitized, with the aim of becoming an open and accessible source of knowledge to a wide audience. In the exhibition "Archive in Motion", four young female artists-printmakers, took as a reference point of their artistic research the work of an equal number of renowned Greek printmakers who have collaborated with the Athens Printmaking Art Center. The outcome of their research reinforces a multilayered discourse that explores and proposes alternative ways of archive management, as well as new perceptions of the past through contemporary artistic printmaking practices. Helena Provata explores the work of Vasso Katraki, Antigone Valery the one of Opy Zouni, Valentini Mavrodoglou the work of Lambros Orfanos and Eri Agriou the one of Tonia Nikolaidi. The exhibition is curated by Elli Leventaki.
In accordance with the health authorities’ requirements, all visitors must wear a protective mask and all measures against Covid-19 will be applied.
