The Blender Gallery is proud to present "DIVAS", a solo exhibition featuring the latest works of prolific international artist Philip Tsiaras. The exhibition is co-curated with Varvara Roza Galleries. The opening event will take place on Friday the 3rd of June, at 18.00 and will be on view till 30 of July. A full-length, hardbound book entitled "THE SUPERDOT", published by Key Books, will accompany the exhibition.

The New York-based artist will attend the opening.

"DIVAS" is the latest exhibition in a series called "THE SUPERDOT", showcasing colorful Dot Portraits depicting celebrated and powerful personalities from the fields of art, music, cinema, politics, fashion and high society. This show follows two very successful exhibitions in London and New York and will continue in Monaco and Venice, each with its own particular focus and personality.

Tsiaras' "DIVAS" are a compelling mosaic of mythical yet tangible characters. The exacting nature of these paintings create a tour de force of Pointillist personas, re-examining such classical figures as: the ultimate diva Marilyn Monroe, the opera diva Maria Callas, the immortal Aristotle Onassis and prima diva Jackie O, the Greek goddess Irene Pappas, alongside legends from popular culture including David Bowie, Nana Mouskouri, George Michael, Audrey Hepburn, Elon Musk and Prince. The result is an Impressionist and Surreal foray into the history of portraiture and a tribute to the memory of iconic giants.

"THE SUPERDOT" book is also a retrospective of Tsiaras's dot-related works covering three decades of the use of the Dot, from his spiritually motivated "Circle of Life" series, his idiosyncratic horses, to his visceral figurative works. His Dot, the Superdot, is infused with a myriad of painted multicolored coordinates, bordering on what Tsiaras calls "the scientific of sensualism", or "in archaic terms, a modern Greco-Roman mosaic."

Philip Tsiaras is an international artist of Greek origin who lives and works in New York City. He has led a remarkable career, starting with an early encounter in the 80's in New York City with Andy Warhol and Lucas Samaras. In his recent London exhibition, the British Press touted Tsiaras as the "Greek Warhol."

Tsiaras works in practically every medium, Painting, Photography, Ceramic, Glass and Bronze. He has been the recipient of many national prizes and awards with more than 80 solo exhibitions, in North America, Europe and Asia.  His works are widely collected in prominent museums and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum, New York.
